What led you to join Sabik Offshore?
It was a coincidence. I wasn’t actively looking for a job, but I came across the job posting for a position in quality management. The whole look and feel reminded me of a previous job where I’d felt very comfortable, and of which I’d still been a little nostalgic for. So I applied for the position on a whim, thinking that if my gut feeling turned out to be true, I’d be pretty interested. It was a fateful coincidence. I could immediately see myself at Sabik Offshore during the interview. It was like two gears meshing together. Everything I’d hoped for was confirmed, so I felt reassured that applying was the right decision.
Is there a unique selling point, or something that sets Sabik Offshore apart from other employers?
I’ve seen some of the things I appreciate about Sabik Offshore at other employers, but here, a lot of great qualities come together. I’ve worked at companies with a great culture of learning from mistakes, flat hierarchies, or team spirit, but I find the concentration of positive qualities here to be unique and wonderful.
How do you feel about the teamwork at Sabik Offshore?
Very positive. I’ve worked at companies before where everyone just focused on their own area. Given our size, it’s completely different here. Of course, we have to concentrate on specific areas of responsibility – it wouldn’t work if everyone felt responsible for everything. Still, we don’t isolate ourselves. We help each other, support one another wherever we can, and share our knowledge, because understanding is a top priority for us.
We also have a great error management system, because mistakes can happen to anyone. When they do, we work together proactively to find solutions to prevent them from happening again. But no one scolds anyone or points fingers. I think that’s great.
