THOMAS NIEMANN

Production

One of our biggest challenges is managing our warehouse space. The number of projects we are delivering per year has grown so much that we are bursting at the seams.

What do you find exciting about your job?

My colleagues and I keep an eye on incoming and outgoing goods. We are now so busy that there is simply not enough space. The challenge is to keep everything in the warehouse in order, including administrative order. Goods have to be checked, made sure they are intact and indeed what we ordered. The warehouse is an interface to almost all colleagues.

What drives you?

I always enjoy coming to work at Sabik Offshore, I look forward to it. I have the variety I need in a family friendly atmosphere.

What do you think of your Sabik Offshore team?

We are all on a first-name basis, which says a lot – and always on an equal footing. It’s never a power play based on rank. Everyone has a voice. I think that’s good! And you are not alone, if you need help, you will get it.

How have you grown within the company?

I first started out in production, assembling lamps. I really liked that. It was demanding and varied: screwing, drilling, soldering, programming, configuration – quite extensive.

Often, I had to get a lot of things out of the warehouse, so I started to optimize things. After a year and a half, I was asked if I would like to help run the warehouse. I am now one of the main contacts for the warehouse and check the products and components for incoming and outgoing goods.
