What do you find exciting about your job?
For me, it’s mainly the fact that we take the special requirements of people and engineers at sea into account right from the beginning in the design stage.
How do you know you’re doing a good job?
It’s a very good feeling to find a design that works for all components and products and in the end you see it is clearly a “Sabik Offshore” product.
What drives you?
The challenge of creating a prodcut that fulfils many different requirements with as few parts as possible.
How did you find your job here at Sabik Offshore?
Sabik Offshore advertised a position for a product designer at the university where I was studying at the time. I sent my application and was invited for an interview. It was quickly clear to me I wanted to work at Sabik Offshore.
Many of my design classmates went to design studios. They have one design after the next on their desk, but never see the finished product. Here, I am involved in the entire process from the initial idea to the final product. It’s a very satisfying to have a product in my hand which started from a sketch. Then I know that they will now go into the wind farm and fulfil their function there.
I look forward to exchanging ideas with my colleagues every day. We also talk about private matters. That is “worth its weight in gold” for me.
When I started at Sabik Offshore, there were only 35 of us. Even though we have grown in the meantime, we have not lost our closeness to each other or the connection the higher levels of the management. For me, it’s important that I feel comfortable at Sabik Offshore and can talk openly about everything. In general, the company make sure that we are doing well here. When I became a father a few years ago, I received a small child bonus – accompanied by a personal letter from the management. And taking my parental leave was no problem at all. The projects were planned accordingly.
I feel valued in many areas of my daily tasks and I enjoy coming to work every day.
